This section of the help is intended to provide you with definitions for each statistic in the analysis of variance. Some statistics are only given under certain conditions or for certain designs. The ANOVA is built entirely on the premise that the factors are fixed, not random and the design is crossed, not nested. Note that you can choose View, Annotated ANOVA to provide assistance with interpretation of the results
The F Value for a term is the test for comparing the variance associated with that term with the residual variance. It is the Mean Square for the term divided by the Mean Square for the Residual.
