1. Make thin transverse sections of leaves from maize and bean plants. Observe the difference in leaf anatomy of the two plants.
2. Collect several plants growing wild in the campus. Make transverse sections of their leaves.
3. Determine whether they are the C3 or C4 plants on the basis of Kranz anatomy.
4. Treat leaf sections with a drop of iodine solution.
5. Observe which cell are more prominently strained in C3 and C4 plants.
