The obvious influence of irradiation on the main
molecular bonds can be noticed (Fig. 2). It should
also be noted that the irradiation causes minor spectral
changes (mainly intensity) in the IR spectra of
nucleic acid extracts corresponding to 880 cm1,
1013 cm1, and 1145 cm1 wavenumbers. Note that
the n(C-C) bond of the backbone corresponding to
970 cm1 wavenumber is destroyed after 15 min,
respectively 45 min of irradiation and recovered after
60 min. In this case, the absorbance value returns to
the initial value. The same behavior is observed for
ns(PO2) and nas(PO2) links. In case of n(C–O)d
bonds corresponding to 1013 cm1 the reversibility
mechanism is slower, taking place after 220 min. This
bond is the most affected by the irradiations.
