Thirdly, gradually advancing integration model. It
represents the characteristics of stage and gradual advance.
Taking samples 1–5 in Type 1 as examples, they
all belong to the high or middle administrators in the
Jiuhua Mountain Tourism Group. Four people accepted
an offer of employment to come to the Jiuhua Mountain.
The last one entered and worked in the Jiuhua Mountain
with his relatives in his youth. Due to the differences of
their jobs and living time in the Jiuhua Mountain, they
showed different perception of integration. It could be
classified into three periods from three aspects. 1) Period
of working integration. Taking samples 1–3 as examples,
they were employed by the Group after March
2001 and then worked all the time at the headquarters
(samples 1 and 2) or were assigned to its subsidiary
company (Sample 3). Their tasks were mainly to transmit
the information. The coordination with the government
and subsidiary company facilitated their working
integration. Their earnings were lower than what they
expected. They were lack of creation in their work and
felt gloomy for the future of their career development.
They lived alone in the Jiuhua Mountain having no time
for caring for family. Meanwhile, the natives rejected
them, because they believed that they were the privileged
strata with high earnings and even may destroy
their present life order and disturb their vested benefits.
The immigrants regarded themselves as “temporary settlers”.
