In the first experiment (during treatment, P < 0.0001), at ED 17, the pO2 in the air cell (Figure 3a and 3b) of both experimental groups was significantly higher compared with that of the control group, whereas at ED 18, it remained significantly higher only in the high-temperature group compared with the control group. At IP, the pO2 levels of the temperature-manipulated groups were significantly higher than that of the control group, numerically so in the first experiment (P = 0.0884) and significantly in the second experiment (P = 0.0003).
