A learning goal is a general statement of the desired outcomes of the learning experience. Goals are often broad in scope can be divided into two or more objectives. A goal need not be stated in behavioral terms. In fact, a goal usually describes in general terms, what the learners should know, feel, or be able to do after the learning experience. Subject matter and desired outcomes, the context of the learning situation, the instructor's strengths and needs, and the learners' needs must be taken into account when educators develop learning goals.
