Although those results indicated the
potential of these fungi as biocontrol agents of black scurf of
potato, the ability of each of these biocontrol agents to reduce
disease severity was not always stable and some field experiments
indicated insignificant data. However, seed tuber treatment with
1 104 oospores mL1 of P. oligandrum tested here significantly
reduced disease severity at a level similar to that of chemical
control in two consecutive years, even though disease severity
was relatively high in the control plots
