. Crude rice bran oil is especially rich in: α-tocopherol
(49–583 mg/kg, 330 mg/kg), α-tocotrienol (≤627 mg/kg,
229 mg/kg), γ-tocopherol (≤212 mg/kg, 117 mg/kg) and γ-tocotrienol
(142–790 mg/kg, 512 mg/kg) (values are CODEX standard followed
by the crude rice bran oil sample used to make the rice bran
oil spreads). Levels of tocopherols and tocotrienols in the spreads
were slightly lower than in the crude rice bran oil, probably because
they have a very low melting temperature.
