In this way, our sample group became quite diverse. Each of the tuk-tuk drivers had an equal chance of being selected in the first instance. However, once the interviewing began at each site, specific drivers were nominated from within the group. Before the interview, the researchers asked each tuk-tuk driver’s permission, together with providing them with information about the interview. Each tuk-tuk driver was given 50 baht as compensation for the valuable working time he/she would lose through their participation in the study. Each interview lasted about 30 minutes. Consequently, six tuk-tuk drivers were interviewed in a day, and the researchers took five days to interview all the tuk-tuk subjects.
