Finally, the comparison between the point-light and the video condition demonstrated
that nonverbal behaviors reflecting dominance and submissiveness are
judged in a similar manner despite the absence of contextual clothing and gaze.
In all three displays, the information that participants appeared to base their judgments
on was the movement kinematics of the actors. This finding is in line with
ecological accounts of person perception that have argued that accurate perceptual
judgments are predicated on the dynamics of motion specified within the movement
kinematics of another person . Moreover, previous studies have also demonstrated that observers have
no trouble judging the emotional implications of behaviors shown in point-light
displays
