Dear Khunying Patama, i have attached a media article below that has the badminton coach Udom talking about sports science. Khunying Patama, the coach uses my name and places blame on me for our loss in Korea. Of course i am not Thai and i do not understand all of the culture, but for me and other people in Thailand and international sport this is unacceptable. These coaches were getting bad results for many years before i even came, and will always want someone or something to blame.
Khunying Patama, i have supported you 100% for the entire time i helped Thailand badminton because i believe in what you are doing. Many occasions i went against coaches opinion and told players that you were doing your best to bring badminton to a better level because that is what i believe to be the truth. I accepted less money and worked more hours despite being widly critisised by coaches for reasons still unknown. Because i care about Thailand sport. I gave my heart and soul into helping this team and they have better fitness, strength and speed as scientifically documented at sports authority of Thailand. All this in 5 months, when it usually takes 2 or 3 years to develop players fitness and strength level. To blame sports science and go back to same training as before is putting ones head in the sand and i feel bad for these players. It is ignoring world sport as a whole and blantently disregarding scientific facts. The work i did was no secret. Any sports scientist around the world would support this. As you know my professional opinion is that the coaches be held accountabable for their coaching results and stop to pass on blame. There are significant people outside of badminton that can support this contention. I understand you must be under a lot of pressure, but i ask for your support with this negativity from coaches in the media. Placing blame onto other people publically is extremely unprofessional. If you have time, please consult with Charnwit Polcheewin for clarity on sports science development and how coaches can interfere with this work. Kind regards, Brett
