For the current research, this method was applied to the acid
hydrolysate of steviol glycosides, isosteviol, which, when quantified,
would be a direct indication of the amount of steviol equivalents
present. No further conversion is necessary because steviol
and isosteviol both have the same molecular mass. The method
was used to quantify steviol equivalents in commercial steviol glycoside
mixtures and different food matrices, and subsequently validated
by following the guidelines of ICH-Q2A
