Solar energy plants, especially the solar energy collection systems, are capital-intensive projects. For communities neat large civic centers,
the easiest way is to connect a small conventional
desalination plant to the local grid or to use fuel
for the production of vapor in abilene. Nowadays
in the market there is a lot of desalination
equipment producing from 20 m3/d op to several hundreds of m3/d fresh water, suitable for small
communities. The smaller the capacity the higher
the capital cost and in many cases the operational
costs as well. In order to select between a conventional desalination method and a solar energy
plant, cost optimization is necessary. But using
conventional desalination methods solar energy is
not promoted.
