Production of hydrolytic enzymes, such as exo-b-1,3glucanase which destroys fungal cell wall, has been reported
in the yeast Pichia anomala (Jijakli & Lepoivre 1998).
Mangunwardoyo et al. (2011) screened yeasts isolated from soil, sediment and river water in Indonesia for CMCase, avicelase and cellobiase and found that a total of 16 yeast isolates
possessed those wall-degrading enzymes in the form of either
a single enzyme or two enzyme components.
