The longwave optical properties are also dependent on other parameters, such as slat emittance, slat width, distance
between two adjacent slats and the curvature of the slat.
The degree of dependency of the longwave optical properties on each parameter is investigated.
Fig. 5 shows the longwave front optical properties of the blind, which has the slat configuration as shown in Table 1, as a function of slat angle for different slat emittance values (e = 0.1, 0.5 and 0.9).
For a low emittance blind (e = 0.1), the variation of the transmittance and reflectance with the slat angle are clearly seen while the variation of the absorptance with the slat angle is barely seen.
For a high emittance blind (e = 0.9), the variation of the transmittance and the absorptance with the slat angle are clearly seen while the variation of the reflectance with the slat angle is minimum.
For a blind with slat emittance of 0.5, the variation of the properties with the slat angle that obviously seen still lie on
the values of transmittance and reflectance.
The effect of the slat width and the distance between two adjacent slats on the longwave optical properties is investigated by varying the distance between two adjacent slats and the slat emittance and keeping the values of the slat width and
the slat curvature fixed.
