Rapid colonization of strain SG-6 in wounds was observed at
25 ◦C (Fig. 6). At the beginning of the experiment, the population
of the bacteria was nearly 1 × 107 CFU wound−1 and increased to
nearly 2.95 × 108 CFU wound−1 after 3 d, but the populations were stabilized for the remaining storage period. At 6 ◦C, the populations
were stable and by the end of the experiment were about 0.18 log units below the original level.
