The objective of this survey research were to study and compare motorcycle riders
behavior with independent variables. The studied independent variables were sex, age, marital
status, educational level, monthly income, number of years on motorcycle riding experience,
and history on accident
The samples of this study were 351 motorcycle riders who admitted at Emergency
Department of Lerdsin hospital. The samples were accidental sampling. A self –
administered questionnaire was used to gather data. The data were analyzed for percentage,
mean, standard deviation, t–test, and Analysis of variance or F – test
Results of the study were as follows:
1. The samples had behavior on knowledge about traffic law and an attitude on
safety of motorcycle riding at an average level, while the readiness and practice on motorcycle
riding were at a good level.
2. The samples with different monthly income indicated statistically significant
difference in attitude on safety of motorcycle riding; whereas the others independent variables
had not showed any significant difference.
3. The samples with different marital status and history on accident indicated
statistically significant difference in the readiness on motorcycle riding. There were no
significant difference in others independent variables.
4. The samples with different educational level indicated statistically significant
difference in practice on motorcycle riding; while significant difference were not found in others
independent variables.
