3. Results and discussion
GO was prepared using the modified Hummers' method from
graphite powders [19], and characterized using FT-IR and UV-Vis
spectra, and also using TEM and SEM analysis. In FT-IR spectra of
GO (Fig. SI-1), the stretching vibration of O–H is appeared as a
broad signalat 3428 cm1, and the sp3 hybridized C–H vibrations
are appeared at 2927 and 2867 cm1. Bands at 1726 and
1633 cm1 are attributed to C═O and C═C stretching , respectively.
Various stretching vibrations of C–O are appeared at 1065–1320 cm1. A strong absorption band at 230 nm and a weak band
around 300nm in the UV-Vis spectrum of GO are appeared for
C═Cπ-π* and C═On-π* transitions, respectively(Fig. SI-2).
Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron
microscopy (SEM) analysis were performed to investigate the
morphology of GO. In theTEM image of GO ,sheet like material
