Under a N2 atmosphere, a THF (10 mL) solution of (π-allylPdCl)2 (17.8 mg, 0.0483 mmol) was placed in a Schlenk tube and cooled to −78 °C. NaBPh4 (50.1 mg, 0.146 mmol) was added to the solution at −78 °C and the mixture was stirred for 10 min. A THF (20 mL) solution of 2 (0.900 g, 2.44 mmol) was added to the mixture at −78 °C, and it was warmed to room temperature and stirred for 13 h. After 1 N HCl/ MeOH, 1 N HCl aqueous solution, and CHCl3 were added to the mixture, the CHCl3 phase was separated using a separatory funnel, and the aqueous phase was extracted with CHCl3. The combined CHCl3 phase was washed with 1 N HCl aqueous solution and water, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated under reduced pressure to afford a crude product. Purification with preparative recycling SEC gave poly2′ in 24% yield.
