In the treatments, pathogen growth was first observed 3 days after inoculation and the development of A. gallica was consistent and regular over time (R2 values between 0.95 and 0.99 in the first 3 weeks, data not shown). On pre-inoculated bark, T. atroviride SC1 grew quickly and produced a few typical green conidia. The incidence of the pathogen on pre-inoculated bark was always 0%; whereas on bark infected only with A. gallica, the incidence was 100% at all times. No new A. gallica mycelia or rhizomorphs developed when the initial pathogen inoculum was placed for 28
days on T. atroviride SC1 pre-inoculated bark and then cultured on media selective for basidiomycetes. In all of the treatments that did not include Trichoderma, the pathogen remained viable and new rhizomorphs and mycelia grew on the selective media
