The zone of inhibition significantly increased (p < 0.05) against all the testedstrains as the concentrations of SH extracts in the pullulan film increased. A 5% addition of SH extract to the pullulan film inhibited the growth of Gram-positive bacteria, while Gram-negative bacteria were inhibited by a 4-fold higher extract concentration (20%) in the film. Generally, Gram-negative bacteria are more resistant to antimicrobial compounds than Gram-positive bacteria.
