Its with much regret I have to put these Mavic 80's into the marketplace, but my Missus has had enough of my bike stuff hanging around the house whilst she awaits completion of my next 'bike project' and she's giving me a bit of grief about it... :(
These beauties having been sitting collecting dust in our bedroom for at least 2 years & are probably the first thing she see's in the a.m to start her day off, and it gives her the hump!!! Personally I cant understand why, but then again she is a non cyclist, and has no appreciation of bicycle beauty and bling :)
Seriously though, I got them with all good intention of putting them to good use & never have, and I cant see me doing so in the near future, as I buy bits as and when opportunity arises which is not that often now due to change of financial circumstances :( ...so now its best they go to someone who can put them to good use and enjoy them for how they were intended, and hopefully contribute in helping get the Missus off my back!!
As you can see in the pics, they are in very good shape.. I didnt get them as a pair as I bought them a year apart from the same previous owner, when he too was having a mass clearout due to his Wife laying down the law..but they are both Cosmic 80's for tubs and in VGC with little use..
A couple of very slight marks on the hubs where the black coating has chipped from being stored out of wheelbags next to my bed! (prob Mrs has given them a sly kick :) Brake surfaces are as good as new, in fact the wheels themselves were little used by the previous owner and only on dry days and never in anger as his main thing was posing down at the bike shop or on the coffee clubrun...
Tubs are in good shape, again barely used..The rear is a Mavic Griplink 28-22, and the front for the life of me I cant recall what brand..(no i.d on it) and is sized 28-23.. Maybe an officianado out there can recognise the tread pattern and shed some light on the make..
They came from a previous good home, so It'll prob be a good brand and not a cheapo cheapo..
Their still well stuck on even after a couple of years of laying around, although for peace of mind I would recommend doing them again. They have also been kept very slightly inflated as a matter of routine whilst in bedroom storage, so no fractures to sidewalls etc ....
Not much more I can tell you about them really, if you know your stuff, you'll know their a great set of wheels..and can see from the pics that they are in good shape..
Note: although shown wearing an 11- 25 Shimano Dura ace cassette, I am going to take that off unless the winning bidder, particularly wants to do an deal on keeping it...
I might be up for a buy it now price if its sensible enough, just ask but please dont take the p..... :)
Happy to deliver within 25 mile radius or further if you want to contribute a bit to my gas tank..
UK postage free, but will need signing for on receipt.. Overseas, ask for an estimate please
Cheers for looking & secretly I'm hoping they dont sell !! At least then I can say to the Missus, that I tried but nobody wanted them :)
