A qualitative hermeneutic approach inspired by Gadamer’s
philosophy guided the study. The study explores three
concepts that address the interpretive process. The hermeneutic
circle refers to the idea of change and the achievement
of an understanding between the whole and the parts. The
fusion of horizons means that the researcher is able to
understand the participant in a certain way because of his/her
preunderstanding and the understanding of the participants
will influence the understanding of the researcher. Dialogue
with the text means that it is possible to understand the
transcribed text if the researcher understands it as answers to
questions (Gadamer 1989, Fleming et al. 2003)
