Because of the highly exothermic chemical reaction, the reactor makes free about
10 MW energy for energy integration. Since the reaction temperature is in the
range 150 – 160 ° C, the heat of reaction can be recovered as low - pressure steam at
140 – 145 ° C and 3 – 3.5 bar. This amount can cover a substantial part of the energy
needed in the process, for distillation or evaporation. In addition, the enthalpy of
the exit stream may be used for feed preheating via a classical FEHE heat exchanger,
as shown in Figure 10.7 .
