To obtain statistically meaningful results, all experiments were
repeated three times (n = 3) each employing a new batch of freshly
prepared soymilk as an independent trial. For each trial, typically
three samples were used for the tests and the analysis would be
done in duplicate. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed
with SPSS ver. 20 software (Armonk, NY, USA) to determine the
treatment effects. Significant (p < 0.05) differences between
means (n = 3) were identified by the least significant difference
(LSD) procedure, and relationship between enzyme activity and
Ca2+ release was established with correlation analysis.
