This paper is a critical review in visual culture. It seeks to identify ways in which visual culture can interpret architectural heritage. It also aims to discuss and to interrogate about architectural heritage interpretation in Thailand in terms of visual culture.
The paper starts with the discussion of architecture as visual culture. Then the approach of semiotics and iconology for understanding visual literacy of architecture is unfolded. Finally, the contemporary issue of architectural heritage interpretation in Thailand through the perspective of visual culture is discussed and questioned.
