The capability of the MIP to remove other widely used pharmaceuticals and related compounds was also evaluated. Thus, urine blank samples were spiked with the studied NSAIDs and paracetamol, diazepam, and caffeine at 2.0 and 0.5 mg/L level, respectively, and extracted using MIP cartridges using the aforementioned washing condition. Clean LC-DAD Chromatograms were provided for NSAID compounds. Additionally,to demonstrate the real advantage of the use of MIPs in SPE Method, 5ml urine blank sample was spiked with NSAIDs plus paracetamol, dizepam, and caffiene at 2mg/L each and it was extracted using a conventional c18 sorbent. Theuse of c18 cartridges did not provide an extract as clean as MIP, and it also contained residues of the orther pharmaceuticals evaluated.
