cooling capacity for space cooling during cloudy or rainy periods
(Fig. 1). Heat supplied by fossil fuel or electricity was
generally adopted. This however causes a problem of additional
investment of heaters and low efficiency in heat supply.
The New Energy Center at National Taiwan University has
been devoted to the development of solar-assisted ejector
cooling/heating system (SACH). Two types of SACH were
developed. The SACH consists of a conventional inverter-type
air conditioner (IAC) made of variable-speed compressor
which is connected in series or parallel with a solar-heated
ejector cooling system. The first system SACH-1 is in series
configuration as shown in Fig. 2 (Huang et al., 2010a)
