Therefore, the aim of the proposed study is twofold: (1) to assess the effect of the acute ingestion of a 30 mg·kg−1 BM dose of β-alanine on paresthesia symptoms, mood and psychological effects on cycling performance and (2) to investigate whether cyclists given a placebo under the impression it was a potentially performance-enhancing supplement (β-alanine) would perform at a higher level than in control conditions.
