Additions of excess bismuth oxide in bismuth based ceramics are also often carried outin the processing as a means of improving the ceramic properties [12–13]. It is expectedthat controlling of heating rate may affect to the Bi volatilization in the processing. Toour knowledge, a systematic study for the effects of excess bismuth oxide and heatingrate on the phase formation and properties BFO ceramics has not been investigated. Inthe present work, we report for our results showing a dependence of BFO phase stabilityon the bismuth oxide content and heating rate. Results are also reported for dielectric andferroelectric properties
