After 7 days of cultivation, it could be observed clearly that the root length and stem length of plasma treatment cases were rather longer than of the controlled group. However, for plasma treatment cases, the root length and stem length were not significantly different. Fig. 2 (a) shows the image of radish cultivation after 140 watts of plasma treatment for 0,2,4 and 6 minutes. It could be noticed that the root and stem of the radish sprout were grown straight for the first 5 days after cultivation and, after that ther begin to bend. This was because the stem substantially absorbs water and the basement of cultivation place was not suitable for holding the weighty sprouts. The average root length of a controlled case and plasma treatment cases
were 4.5 and 7.5 cm, respectively.However. the length of the root and stem of a radish sprout was not strong enough to judge that plasma could improve the germination rate. Therefore, of confirm the growth enhancement effect from plasma treatment, it is necessary to analyze
together with another process to determine the total mass of sprout.
