Lace
Lace is a very historic fabric. Netted fabrics were the ancestors of modern lace and were used by many primitive people for making fishing nets. Sumerians used lace on their garments and archeologists have discovered netted fabrics as old as 2,500 BC. Until the 7th century, lace making was a domestic art, but nuns in convents started to make articles for church use and bridal veils.
