The population of this study comprised Form one students from 22 secondary schools(122 classes in the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia who took'Integrated Curriculum for Secondary School(ICSS) Mathematics' as one of their compulsory learning subjects in school. Approximately 4,700 students formed the population of this study(Keningau District Education Office, 2006). Sample size was determined based on the formula suggested by Krejecie and Morgan(1970) and power analysis(Miles& Shevlin, 2001). In this matter, two secondary schools were randomly selected from 22 secondary schools in the Interior Division of Sabah, Malaysia. After the two schools had been identified, seven Form classes were randomly selected from all the Form one classes in the two schools. All the students in the seven Form one classes were taken automatically as the samples of the study.
