Functional group characterization using FTIR (Fig. 8)
showed a significant shift in the wavelength of the broadband
at around 3,300 cm-1 upon treatmentwithCV, indicating that
hydroxyl and amino groups are involved in bond formation
with dye molecules. A prominent shift was also observed for
wavelength at 1,629–1,647 cm-1 attributing to possible
involvement of C = C functionality in the sorption process.
