Composites were prepared following the standard NFNAP protocols for fruits and vegetables [homogenization in liquid nitrogen using a Robot Coupe Blixer food processor (Robot Coupe USA, Jackson, MS) and storage of subsamples at 60 5 8C under nitrogen in sealed glass jars] that was previously shown to yield homogeneous subsamples (Phillips et al., 2006) and
maintain moisture content (Phillips et al., 2001).
