The ideal treatment for glottic bamboo nodules is not yet clear. Follow-up over several years has dem- onstrated that we should not treat a localized vocal fold lesion; instead, we should treat the patient for the systemic disease. If this is not done, recurrence of bamboo nodules in the same site or other sites of the vocal folds is prone to occur.''' However, Li et al'^ also advocated surgical resection on the prem- ise that it may decrease the secondary inflammatory changes induced by the deposition of immune com- plexes. The absence of clear lesion boundaries also raises the possibility that the chronic inflammatory process might be spread throughout the whole vocal fold but is more evident in some portions and thus could appear as the transverse band stripe or bam- boo nodules.
