1. What is ADARP?
ADARP stands for Advanced Data At Rest Protection). Advanced Data At Rest Protection (ADARP) is a new feature of the BlackBerry 10 Security Model. EIM must comply with ADARP.
2. Pre-requisite for ARARP feature
•BES 10.2.0 and later
•BlackBerry 10 device
•Device OS 10.2.1D and later
•Initially only available when device is EAed under Regulated Balance activation (Corp Liable v. 2)
3. ADARP setup for EIM testing
•Login BDS console
•Create an IT Policy to allow ADARP and turn on ADARP when work place locks
- Turn on ADARP feature (Policy > Manage IT Policies > Edit IT Policy > Security tab > Set Advance Data at Rest Protection to Yes)
- Keep Advance Data at Rest Protection Timeout blank or set to 0 (Policy > Manage IT Policies > Edit IT Policy > Security tab > Advance Data at Rest Protection Timeout)
•Create a user, set “Activation type for new and reactivated devices:” to “BlackBerry Balance + Regulated”
•Assign IT policy setup to the user
•Enterprise activate the user
•On device, setup “Lock Work Space After” to 1 minutes, by default is 30 minutes (Settings>BlackBerry Balance>Set “Lock Work Place After” to 1 min)
