2.2. De novo sequencing of fish Cry genes
The de novo sequencing of the Cry genes was performed in the
following 9 fish species collected from local aquarium shops and wet
market: yellowtail clownfish (Amphiprion clarkii), banded pipefish
(Doryrhamphus sp.), tiger grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus), bird
wrasse (Gomphosus varius), centreboard leatherjacket (Monacanthuschinensis), redcoat (Sargocentron rubrum), rockfish (Sebastiscus
marmoratus), tiger barb (Systomus tetrazona) and moray eel
(Uropterygius sp.). The samples of various fish tissues (brain, gut,
heart and liver) were collected and transferred to Sample Protector
(Takara) immediately, and then stored in ultra-low temperature freezer
at −80 °C (Thermo Forma).
