Although it became a worldwide hit, Psy confessed that he wasn't happy with the way 'Gentleman' turned out and vowed to return to his roots for his next comeback album.
At his solo concert today, the world star said a few words about his newfound fame and what it meant for him. "I'm saying this for the first time, but two years ago when I turned 35 I asked myself, for how long can I keep being an artist?" he said. "I wondered if I would still be able to do my energetic music and if my body would still support it, and I figured that one day, I would have to stop being a singer."
"I thought about my life without concerts, and I felt that a part of my body had been sheared away," he said. "I wrote a song last year with the expectation that I will stop singing by the time I'm 40. Unexpectedly, due to that song things kept happening which made me question reality every day. I wondered if this was a hidden camera, like 'The Truman Show'."

"I then released a song called 'Gentleman', and I know that it had a mixed response," he continued. "I read all of the reactions, and honestly, I don't think that it was my style. 'Gangnam Style' wasn't targeted at anyone, but with 'Gentleman', I wondered if foreigners would be able to pronounce it. It wasn't lyrics, it was linguistics."
"Looking back, I need to be myself, so the song I'm writing right now will go back to my roots and I'll do it as I've always done," he said. "If this one's a success, I'll try again. After changing my thoughts, life felt a little easier."
