An uninspired Washington State driver was caught cheating on vehicle occupancy law by faking a passenger with just a t-shirt and baseball cap adorning the seat.
The fraud was easily detected by King County police on Friday and it cost the driver a $124 ticket.
The state trooper who pulled the driver over, Kris Lynch, described it to SeattlePI.com as the 'incredible disappearing passenger.'

Most other drivers looking to benefit from the smooth-sailing high occupancy vehicle lanes try a little harder and dress up dummies or even erotic inflatable female dolls.
One driver used a decorative Halloween skeleton wearing a hoodie to try and fool police. When troopers pulled the car over, they found it had a holiday cookie tin between its bony legs.

The most recent carpool lane violator caught by state troopers in King County came Friday on Interstate 405 and Sunset Boulevard in Renton. Except, unlike with most carpool lane cheaters who try to dress up some vaguely human-shaped object, this one just dressed up the passenger seat.
Trooper Kris Lynch called it the âincredible disappearing passenger,â according to the State Patrol.
