With the aforementioned in mind, we have provided a framework in the form of a
conceptual model of these variables. The model includes advice on the choice of
performance measure, control variables, and variables related to objectives and
strategies of the organisation, the role of HR Director, issues related to recruitment,
training and retention, appraisals, incentives, rewards, corporate culture, and external
factors. It is the endeavour of the authors to measure this link in applied research in the
near future. Importantly, we are not aware of any study of this nature, and so we hope
to make a contribution to the field by combining and analysing the survey, financial
and real data in an attempt to measure HRM’s link with OP.
