For the completion task three different stimuli were created. All
of them were pictures with incomplete dialogues, and participants
were presented with each them followed by the statement: ‘‘Please
complete the dialogue as you think appropriate’’. In the first stimulus
a couple in a supermarket was depicted, and the dialogue
guided consumers to complete it mentioning positive characteristics
of the ready-to-eat-salad or attributes that promote its
consumption. In the second stimulus, consumers were suggested
to mention characteristics of the product that limit its purchase. Finally,
in the third stimulus the dialogue guided respondents to
indicate characteristics of the ready-to-eat-salad that discourage
its purchase. The three stimuli used are shown in Fig. 1.
