3.8. Residual solvent in treated wine
The analysis of residual solvent (hexane) in LEM treated wine
(after four stages of liquid membrane extraction) using gas chromatography
indicated that the presence of peaks with retention
times of 2.463 and 3.873 min corresponding to hexane and toluene,
respectively (Fig. 10). The residual concentration of hexane
in treated wine was 4.0 ppm, which is much less compared to
the maximum specified limit for hexane in spice oleoresins
(25 ppm) [46].
