The quality assurance nurse is responsible for the
region-wide review of breast care nursing screening
standards and reports the findings to the regional
quality assurance director. Since there was no
national guidance on how the clinical nurse specialists should evaluate
their work, the regional breast care nurses group
provided the forum and momentum to establish
a working party to develop a patient satisfaction
survey for clinical nurse specialists to be able to assess their practice
and the role of the clinical nurse specialists in breast screening in the
West Midlands.
