Phetchaburi presents local culture
Aside from beautiful beaches and spectacular palaces, Phetchaburi is also well known for artistic handicrafts. To help promote traditionalhandicrafts and local artwork to young people, the Phetchaburi Cultural Learning Centre was established in 2007. The centre is divided into six sections, each of which exhibits art, handicrafts and information about legendary local artists.

The first section is located on third floor of the building and is divided into two parts. The first displays paintings, drawings and sculpturesby famous Thai artists like Khua In Khong, Pin Infahsang and Pitoon Muangsomboon. The second part displays more artwork by local artists, as well as providing information about how the art was made. The display includes paintings, sculptures, wood carvingsbanana stalk carvings, Khon masks and decorative mirrors.

The exhibitions in this space change throughout the year. Young artists can contact the cultural learning centre if they would like to display their work here. This April, sculptures by award-winning national artist Thongluang Aim Oat are on display.
