Free and bound phenolics of each extract were determined on
the basis of Folin-Ciocalteu colorimetric method as described by
Naczk and Shahidi (2004). Phenolic contents were expressed as
gallic acid equivalents (mg of GAE 100 g-1 DW). Total phenolic
content was calculated as the sum of free and bound phenolics.
Determination was carried out three times for each extracts.
