Organizations
Some salespeople will seek memberships in various civic groups that give them the
opportunity to meet individuals who can become prospects for their product or service.
These groups generally meet on a regular basis, and this fives the salesperson time to
build relationships. A salesperson must set contact goals for each meeting to make this
approach beneficial. Salespeople must let the group know what they do and that they
are interested in helping others. If a salesperson joins only to get something from the
group (e.g., names,leads), other members will soon see that agenda as self-serving, and
this technique will not be beneficial
