Several biological control agents have been developed in recent
years, and few have actually been registered for use on fruit crops
(Sholberg and Conway, 2004). The materials based on microorganisms
have following properties: high specificity against targetplant pathogens, are easy degradable, and have low mass production
cost. Antagonistic microorganisms can compete with pathogens
for nutrients, inhibit pathogen multiplication by secreting
antibiotics or toxins, or reduce pathogen population through hyper
parasitism (Zˇivkovic´ et al., 2010).
