What Makes This an "Eco" Tour?
Carbon Offset - We contribute to local reforestation schemes around the Chiang Mai area partly as an offset for any carbon emissions produced in the operation of the tour and partly to improve the local natural environment.
Community Projects - 10% of profits will be donated to worthy local community projects which benefit the communities we visit. Past beneficiaries have included the local hill tribe school in Mae Mae Village.
Community Based Tourism - This trip is conducted closely with the local communities we visit. Where possible we use staff from the local villages and use local home-stays and involve the local communities in the preparation of your meals. This ensure the local communities we visit benefit from the tourists who visit their communities. These trips are conducted in an area where other companies do not operate, the villages you will visit retain much of the traditions and charms and they have very few foreign visitors.
Transport - We do en devour to keep engined powered transport to a minimum, much of the traveling you will do on these tours will be at a slower pace under your own steam (hiking, biking and kayaking) this will enable you to get closer to the communities and environments we visit and give you more time to appreciate some of the beautiful scenery Northern Thailand has to offer
