This extended model consisted of awareness of the increased health risks associated with road-traffic-related air pollution/noise, their environmental concern, severe concern regarding the health risks of air pollution/ noise, annoyance due to air pollutants/noise, constant freight traffic, sensitivity to road-traffic air pollution/noise, difficulty relaxing in a location with air pollution/noise, confidence in the government to reduce road-traffic air pollution/noise, and opinions concerning policy attempts to reduce road-traffic air pollution/noise and improve the wellbeing of residents. The extended models were used to test our hypotheses presented in the Introduction, about the role of risk perception aspects.
